  1. The applicant must submit a letter addressed to the CSS Executive requesting membership and outlining their interest in spinal pathology, including their contributions to the field.
  2. The applicant must submit a copy of their current CV, which should demonstrate peer reviewed publications in the field of spine.
  3. The applicant must submit a minimum of two endorsement letters from two CSS members who are currently in good standing.  The letters should include mention and support of their contributions to the field of spine pathology.
  4. The applicant must have previously presented a minimum of one abstract at a CSS Annual Scientific Conference.

NOTE #1:   There will not be a separate type of membership category for non-surgeons.  Once a non-surgeon applicant is accepted, they will have the same type of membership as surgical CSS members do.

NOTE #2:   The review process for non-surgeon membership application will be as indicated below as stated within CSS By Law #3.2, Article III – Membership:

Applications for non-surgeon membership in the CSS will be reviewed by the Executive Director, President and the Membership Committee Chair.  The names of prospective non-surgeon members will be circulated to the full membership in advance of the Executive Committee meeting with a request for comments.  Any responses will be considered with the application.  Mandatory requirements for non-surgeon membership requests will be based on guidelines set by the CSS Executive Committee.  All positive recommendations will be presented to the Executive and approved by a simple majority vote of the Executive Committee.
