Canadian Spine Society's Mission Statement The Canadian Spine Society is a collaborative organization of spine surgeons and health care professionals with a primary interest in advancing excellence in spine patient care, research and education.
The Canadian Spine Society is a community of Canadian medical leaders comprised of orthopaedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, physiatrists, physiotherapists, chiropractors and other spine health care professionals, all with the goal of promoting strong and healthy backs. With its diverse training and wide range of experience, the CSS membership remains focused on the improvement of spine research, educational needs and treatments in Canada. The CSS is helping to reduce the impact on the health care system by developing comprehensive information sharing tools such as the Canadian Spine Registry, which provides spine surgeons and researchers from across the country with access to current data on operative procedures and outcomes.
We focus on maintaining strong partnerships with groups such as the Rick Hansen institute, Back Care Canada and most major Canadian universities. These partnerships allow the CSS to build consensus among stakeholder groups through increased opportunities for collaboration, inter-organizational communication and programs that encourage continuous improvement among all spine care professionals.
